PTO Mission & Goals
Mission Statement
The purpose of OCMS PTO is to promote the education and welfare of the students in our school. To this end, the PTO takes a very active role in the enrichment activities of the school, while encouraging a feeling of community spirit among students, staff and parents. The PTO organizes and mobilizes parents, school and community members so that they can make important and valuable contributions to our school community. Funds to support all PTO-sponsored programs and purchases are generated through membership dues and through parent-coordinated fundraisers.
We urge all parents to join the PTO and to participate to the greatest extent possible in PTO activities.

- Promote well-being in the community through encouraging and supporting community service efforts
- Provide opportunities for parent education through:
- Parent networking
- Speakers and workshops
- Fundraising
- Membership
- Direct Donation campaign
- Silent Auction in conjunction with Talent Show
- Any way we can!
- Student Enrichment
- Assemblies and speakers
- Grade level activities such as dances, socials and the 8th grade cookout & dance
- Purchase of supplies and equipment (art and music supplies, PE equipment, science lab supplies and kits, computers, etc.)
- Direct monetary contributions to the school
- Services & Program Support
- "Smoke Signals" publication
- PTO Calendar
- Program support (concessions) for after school sports programs
- Chaperons for school dances

PTO Email Announcements
If you are a PTO member, you should be receiving periodic emails from the PTO with annoucements and reminders about our activities. If you have joined PTO but are not receiving these messages, then please enter your email address below to join our mailing list. You can also let us know you want to be on our mailing list by sending an email to copresidents@ocmspto.org. Donate
Several parents have expressed a desire to contribute more than the $5 membership fee. If you would like to donate more, you may do so online. Maybe you don't have tons of extra time to spend volunteering, but you may want to show your commitment to the school in a concrete way.
